Symtx is an engineering firm. As production lead and network manager, I worked alongside a three-person team to completely overhaul the company’s information systems.
Highlights
- Upgraded Exchange from 5.5 to 2003 and stabilized Active Directory
- Implemented VMware virtualization and brought consistent process to previously ad-hoc IT operations
- Specified and configured systems for custom projects delivered to Symtx customers
- Built an iSCSI storage network with a VMware front end to host the company’s local systems
- Led the final project of replacing all existing IP networking gear with managed switches on a centrally controlled Dell PowerConnect backbone
