Texas Protax represents property owners’ interests in property tax valuation, presenting the case to County Appraisal Districts across Texas. As Director of Information Technology, I lead the team responsible for the systems and infrastructure that keep the firm running securely and efficiently.
Highlights
- Led ongoing process discovery and automation initiatives across the IT department
- Contained a ransomware attack with zero business disruption, through careful disaster recovery planning and targeted access-point hardening
- Implemented a company-wide helpdesk system and monitoring platform covering over 1,000 endpoints for uptime, responsiveness, and capacity
- Enabled a rapid, seamless shift to remote work during the 2020 pandemic through fast mobile device deployment and a VPN rollout that kept the business running without interruption
- Authored building security and operations handbooks, giving staff clear escalation paths for power outages, water leaks, fire, and other facility issues
- Wrote power up/down runbooks to ensure systems could be brought offline and back online safely and predictably
- Directed a five-year effort to build a proprietary, company-wide software platform in C# .NET Core, including a multi-stage environment, CI/CD pipelines for both code and database, and redundant infrastructure and hardware
