I am Director of Information Technology for this great firm which represents the public interest when it comes to property taxes, and property valuation when it comes to present “The Argument” to the various County Appraisal Districts of Texas.

During my time at Texas Protax our team performed constant discovery of process and automation.

Due to careful planning and protection of critical systems, we survived a lights out ransomware attack that would have crippled most businesses. We simply did not acknowledge the attacker, performed our disaster recovery routine, performed and implemented some critical access point changes and went on about our way.

A helpdesk system was implemented to assist workflow in the IT Department, as well as monitoring systems to ensure that over a thousand points in the company are monitored and reported on for uptime, responsiveness, and capacity.

When the pandemic of 2020 was in full effect, work from home was solved immediately by distribution of mobile devices and equipment; and a vpn service ensured that employees were able to maintain business continuity when many companies were struggling to keep their doors open.

Implementation of building security and operations handbooks ensured that anyone could contact the responsible party if there was a power outage, water leak, fire, or an obnoxious person in the parking lot.

Power up/down manuals were composed to ensure that staff had a predictable and repeatable way to bring systems down safely; and also to bring everything back online in the proper order.

A four year development cycle and implementation of a proprietary, business encompassing software package in C# .NET Core, with a multi staged environment. Implementation of a code storage, a continuous integration, continuous deployment for both code and database. Redundant infrastructure, storage, computational hardware installation.
